Terms & Conditions
Last updated 22 October 2026. The agreement behind every booking and purchase.
These terms govern your use of the Locus Dog Club website and your purchase of our training services and digital guides. By using the site, booking a service or buying a guide, you agree to them. Please read them with our Privacy notice, Refund and Returns policy and Cookie policy.
Who we are
Locus Dog Club is the trading name of Alisa Groen, who provides dog training and behaviour coaching on the Costa del Sol, Spain (Estepona and Marbella). Registered address: Urb. La Alberdina, Los Rosalejos 4, 29680 Estepona, Málaga, Spain. Tax identifier: Y9109985K. References to “we”, “us” and “our” mean Locus Dog Club. References to “you” mean the person using the site or buying from us.
Services & digital products
We offer two kinds of product:
- In-person and remote training and behaviour services (assessments, sessions, programmes and coaching).
- Digital guides and resources sold through the Locus Library. These are online digital content, not physical goods and not files you download.
We describe each product on its page as accurately as we can. Photographs and examples are illustrative. Results from training depend on many factors and are not guaranteed.
Orders & payment
When you book a service or buy a guide, you make an offer to purchase. A contract forms once we confirm your order or take payment. We may decline or cancel an order (for example if a product is unavailable or a payment fails), in which case we refund any amount already taken.
Payment is taken at checkout through our payment provider. You confirm that the payment details you give are your own and valid. We do not store full card details.
You receive a payment receipt by email. If you need an invoice, for example for a business, write to info@locusdogclub.com with your billing details and we send one.
Prices
Prices are shown on each product page and are in the currency stated there. Unless stated otherwise, Volume 01, Foundation, with the Locus CODE Workspace is $247, and each further volume is $97 for a reader who already owns Foundation (a new reader buys it together with Foundation). Prices may change, but a change never affects an order we have already confirmed. Prices include VAT (IVA) where it applies, so nothing is added at checkout. Checkout may show the price converted into your local currency; your card provider may charge its own fee for a payment in another currency.
Licence for digital guides (not resale)
When you buy a digital guide you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use it for your own dogs and household. You do not own the content itself, and we keep all intellectual property in it.
You may not copy, reproduce, share, republish, resell, sublicense, rent, lend or redistribute a guide or any part of it. You may not remove or interfere with any technical measure that protects it, and you may not use it, in whole or in part, to train or develop any machine learning or artificial intelligence system. You may take private notes for your own use.
Breaching this licence ends your right to use the guide, and we may withdraw access without refund where the breach is serious or repeated.
How your guide is delivered, and your access link
Guides are not sold as a file. Each purchase gives you a private access link to an online reader, together with the Locus CODE™ Workspace, the companion tool you work the book in. The link is shown on the confirmation page once payment clears. Bookmark it; if you lose it, write to us and we will send it again.
- The link is personal to you. Treat it like a password: do not share it, post it, or include it in a screenshot you publish.
- It works on a limited number of your own devices so that one purchase serves one household. If you change device or lose access, contact us and we will help.
- You are responsible for what happens through your link. If you believe it has been shared or exposed, tell us and we will re-issue it.
- We may suspend or re-issue a link where we reasonably believe it is being shared or used outside this licence.
- Photos you add to the Workspace stay yours. Your trainer can see them to follow your dog’s progress and advise you. We publish one only if you have switched on photo sharing in the Workspace, and switching it off stops any new use.
We intend to keep purchased guides available to you for as long as we operate the Locus Library. If we ever have to withdraw a guide or close the service, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to keep what you have paid for, or a fair refund. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and short interruptions for maintenance or technical reasons are not a failure to deliver.
Acceptable use
- Use the site and our products lawfully and only for their intended purpose.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, attack or gain unauthorised access to the site.
- Do not copy or scrape our content, branding or photographs without permission.
- Treat any other people involved in sessions or events with respect.
Liability for training advice
Our training and our guides offer general guidance based on experience. Every dog is different. Advice is given in good faith but cannot account for your dog’s full history, health or temperament, and following it is at your discretion.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for outcomes that depend on how advice is applied. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. Our total liability for any claim relating to a product is limited to the amount you paid for it.
You are responsible for your dog
You remain responsible for your dog at all times, including during a session, a walk or an event, and including its behaviour, safety and any injury, harm or damage it causes to people, other animals or property. Our presence, advice or handling does not transfer that responsibility to us.
What you confirm before a session
By booking, you confirm that all of the following are true, and you agree to tell us straight away if any of them changes:
- You are the owner or keeper of the dog, or you have the owner’s permission to bring it.
- Your dog’s vaccinations are current, including rabies where it is required by law, and your dog is not showing signs of an infectious illness.
- You hold third-party liability insurance covering your dog, or you accept that you carry that risk yourself.
- You have told us about any bite history, aggression, reactivity, fear, pain, injury, medication or medical condition that could affect the session or anyone’s safety. A dog’s history is something only you can know, and withholding it puts people at risk.
Spanish law on dogs, including potentially dangerous dogs
You are responsible for complying with Spanish and local rules that apply to your dog, including leads, muzzles, identification, registration and access to public spaces. Spain operates a specific regime for dogs classed as potentially dangerous, which can require a licence, registration, a muzzle in public and compulsory third-party liability insurance, and the classification can depend on breed or on an individual assessment. Requirements differ between national, regional and municipal rules and they change. Checking what applies to your dog is your responsibility, not ours, and we cannot advise you on your legal position.
Safety during a session
- We may pause, end or refuse a session, a walk or an event at any time if we judge it unsafe for a dog, a person or another animal. Where we end a session on safety grounds through no fault of yours, we will offer a reschedule or a fair refund.
- You must follow reasonable safety instructions given during a session, including where and when a dog is on a lead or muzzled.
- Children remain the responsibility of their accompanying adult at all times, and must not handle or approach another person’s dog without permission.
- You must not attend under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and we may end a session without refund if you do.
Training is not veterinary or medical advice
We are dog trainers and behaviour coaches, not veterinary surgeons. Nothing we say, write or publish is veterinary diagnosis, treatment or medical advice, and it is not a substitute for seeing a vet. Behaviour changes can have medical causes. If your dog is in pain, unwell, or its behaviour changes suddenly, speak to a vet first. Where a dog’s needs fall outside what we can responsibly help with, we will say so and refer you on.
Walks, group sessions and events
- Places are limited and are confirmed when booked. Group formats are not suitable for every dog, and we may move a dog to a one to one format if a group setting is not right for it.
- You attend with your dog at your own risk, and you remain responsible for it around other dogs and people throughout.
- Events may be moved or cancelled for weather, safety, illness or numbers. If we cancel, you can move to another date or have your money back.
- We may take photographs or video at events for our own promotion. Tell us before or at the event if you would rather not appear, and we will respect that. Where an image identifies a person, we rely on your consent and you can withdraw it at any time.
Who can buy and book
You must be at least 18 to buy a guide or book a service. If you are booking on behalf of someone else, or bringing a dog you do not own, you confirm you have their permission and you accept these terms on their behalf as well as your own.
Things outside our control
We are not liable for failing to deliver, or for delay, where the cause is outside our reasonable control. That includes severe weather, illness or injury, transport failure, power or network failure, an outage at a supplier we depend on, and any act of a public authority. Where something like that stops a session or an event, we will offer you a reschedule or a fair refund.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the business changes or the law does. The version that applies to your purchase is the one published when you bought. We will show the date of the last update at the top of this page, and where a change materially affects something you have already bought, we will tell you.
Links to other sites
Where we link to another website or service, we do not control it and we are not responsible for its content, its products or how it handles your data. Its own terms and privacy notice apply.
Complaints and resolving a dispute
If something has gone wrong, tell us first. Email info@locusdogclub.com with what happened and what you would like us to do, and we will reply within a reasonable time and try to put it right.
If you are a consumer in the EU and we cannot resolve it between us, you can take the matter to the consumer authorities where you live. In Spain that is the Oficina Municipal de Información al Consumidor or the consumer arbitration board for your region. You may also have the right to take a complaint to the consumer authorities in your own country. Nothing here removes those rights.
General
- If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
- If we do not enforce something straight away, that is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
- These terms, together with our Privacy notice, Refund policy and Cookie policy, are the whole agreement between us about what they cover.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms to someone else without our agreement. We may transfer ours if the business is sold or reorganised, and your rights are not reduced if we do.
- Nothing in these terms creates a partnership, employment or agency relationship between us.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Spanish law. Disputes are subject to the courts with jurisdiction under Spanish law. If you are a consumer, this does not remove protections you have under the mandatory law of your country of residence in the EU.
